"Augmented reality (and to some extent, virtual reality as well) is on a collision course with other emerging exponential technologies—for example, the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing and machine learning, to name a few. Businesses that prepare themselves to capture the value that can unfold when they converge are more likely to find themselves as industry leaders in the resulting economy. " -- Jiten Dajee (Singularity Hub)
About This Tech Tour
The future of the home is connected, that much is a fact. Devices from our phones, to our security systems, to our appliances will be connected and will create a symbiotic, predictive environment in our homes that surpasses what we thought was possible just a few years ago. Hello, Internet of Things!
But what will this new, connected environment in our homes look like and how will this transformation take place? Who will be the early movers developing technologies in this space? And where are the opportunities for entrepreneurs, product developers, investors and marketers to begin to explore engaging with consumers in the AR-enabled home?
JOIN US for this special experiential tech tour of a modern, Hayo-enabled apartment and presentation on the future of augmented reality in the connected home with Hayo's team including Gisele Belliot (Founder/CEO), Jose Alonso Ybanez (Founder/CTO), Kanwal Jehan (Head of Community and Marketing). We'll get an up-close, hands-on product demonstration, in a real apartment, of one of the most innovative AR devices launched this past year, and hear from its founders about how they created, developed and marketed technology that is entirely new to consumers.
Light food and beverages included. Check out this blog post about one of our previous tours: From Holograms to HoloLens: Finding Unique Ways to Engage and Educate People on Emerging Technology
So, what exactly is Hayo?
"Hayo [is a device that] connects to your favorite smart home platforms and products (like IFTTT, Wink, Sonos, Nest) and gives you the ability to control them with simple hand motions. The system starts by 3D-scanning your room and lets you create virtual remote controls on top of objects (like furniture) or right in mid air. Want to make your coffee table a play button for Sonos? Or place an on/off button for your HUE lights right above your bed? Hayo can do that. It's like using the force for your home."
Basically, it allows you to create your own augmented reality, right at home. Hayo's connected device partners and platforms include, among others, Amazon Dash, Nest, Logitech, Sonos and Roku.

In addition to learning about the AR and 3D technology that powers Hayo, you'll meet the Hayo team:
"In 2010, we found ourselves having a discussion with the lead designer of Minority Report’s interactive scenes and sequences. A few days later, we quit our jobs and started Space-Connect, the company behind Hayo."
